Originally planned as a fun run\, it has grown into a fully affiliated race with the most recent event attracting over 100 entrants. The race has become one of the most popular attractions at the Show and continues to go from strength to strength. \nThe race attracts a wide variety of runners of varying abilities from all over the East Midlands. Competitors are able to enter the race prior to the Show. Applications received before the Show will be acknowledged and a free pass for entry to the Show will also be supplied. Competitors can also enter on Show day. The 2019 race takes place on Sunday 14th July and will begin at 11:00am. \nPARKING INFORMATION FOR ROAD RACE RUNNERS \nORANGE PASS – ERESBY AVENUE ENTRANCE\, off Church Street\, opposite the Beijing Dragon Hotel and Restaurant. \nRoad Race entrants are politely asked to enter the Showground using the ORANGE entrance. This will enable us to reduce the amount of congestion which we have seen in recent years. ORANGE pass holders will be permitted to use this entrance.

DESCRIPTION:The Lincoln Wellington 5k Series “sponsored by Lincs Van Hire” will be returning this May 2019. \nThis time round we will be incorporating a new event\, “THE MEMORY MILE.” A donation of £1 from every entry fee into this event will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society. \nStart times will be moved forward to 6.30pm for the 1k and 3k series\, with The Memory Mile starting at 7pm. Finally the 5k will kick off at 7.30pm. This is to provide the opportunity for competitors to take partin both the 1 mile and 5k series should they wish. \nAs usual those taking part in the 1k and 3k races will receive a medal after each race. Those who complete 3 out of the 4 races in the 5k series will receive bespoke medals\, and similarly competitors will receive a bespoke medal for completing 3 out the 4 races in The Memory Mile series. Cash prizes will be up for grabs again this year after the success of last year\, all thanks to our sponsors Lincs Van Hire. \nProvisional dates are as follows:\nTuesday 28th May 2019\nTuesday 25th June 2019\nTuesday 30th July 2019\nTuesday 27th August 2019 \nThe series will once again be held at the Yarborough Leisure Centre. This is to provide the opportunity for competitors to take partin both the 1 mile and 5k series should they wish. \nAs usual those taking part in the 1k and 3k races will receive a medal after each race. Those who complete 3 out of the 4 races in the 5k series will receive bespoke medals\, and similarly competitors will receive a bespoke medal for completing 3 out the 4 races in The Memory Mile series. Cash prizes will be up for grabs again this year after the success of last year\, all thanks to our sponsors Lincs Van Hire. \nProvisional dates are as follows:\nTuesday 28th May 2019\nTuesday 25th June 2019\nTuesday 30th July 2019\nTuesday 27th August 2019 \nThe series will once again be held at the Yarborough Leisure Centre. Entries will be on the night with the application form currently being prepared\, and will be available soon along with full details on the Lincoln Wellington Athletic Club websitewww.lwac.org.uk.
