Junior Members
Louth Athletic Club Juniors is a friendly and inclusive athletics section for children aged 7 and above. We welcome beginners as well as young athletes who already enjoy running, jumping, and throwing.
Our aim is to make athletics fun, supportive, and accessible for all abilities. Children do not need to be competitive to join. Some come for fitness, confidence, and friendship, while others want to progress and take part in events.
Where and when
We are based at London Road, Louth, where the club has its own grounds, clubhouse, and running track. This is our main training venue.
Training for juniors starts from 6.00pm to 7.00pm on Monday evenings and 10.15am to 11.15am on Saturday mornings.
From April to September, training is held at Louth Athletics Club grounds, London Road, Louth. From October to March, training is held on Monday evenings at King Edward Grammar School Sports Hall, Crowtree Lane, Louth. The Saturday training is held outdoors at Louth Athletics Club grounds, weather permitting.
Our coaches
Our juniors are supported by coaches who help children learn safely and enjoy athletics. Coaches complete England Athletics courses, relevant safeguarding training and are DBS checked. Parent helpers and qualified coaches are often required to help at training sessions to allow for a wider range of training to take place.
Joining the club
New athletes can attend club training for a 4 session trial before needing to become a member. For junior membership, there is currently no waiting list.
If you would like to join after your trial, please complete the membership form with payment. Junior training sessions cost £2 per session plus annual membership fees.

FAQs
Is my child good enough?
Yes. We welcome children of all abilities, and they do not need to be “good enough” to start. The club is about participation, enjoyment, and gradual progress.
Is it safe?
Yes. Junior coaches are DBS checked and qualified coaches. We aim to provide a safe, supportive environment for every child.
Do they need spikes?
No, not usually. Trainers are fine to begin with, and coaches will advise if spikes are needed later.
How competitive is it?
That depends on the child. Some juniors enjoy competitions, while others simply come for fitness, fun, and confidence.
Where are the club grounds located?
Is there parking at the Louth Athletic Club grounds?
Yes, we have one site parking beside the running track. The barrier will be open for junior training times.
