Louth AC Report W/E 30 September 2018
The Annual charitable race Tennyson 8 held on Sunday 30th September 2018 is a scenic multi terrain route in the Lincolnshire Wolds starting and finishing in Hagworthingham which attracted 138 runners – 114 for 8 mile and 24 for 5.5 mile. The run proceeds will go to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Improving lives curing type 1 diabetes. There were 17 Louth AC members taking part with both races starting at the same time and the weather was ideal running conditions.
Tennyson 5.5 mile
4 members ran the shorter race; 3rd female Victoria Cass (Vet 35) 51.48, 6th female Karen Moulding (Vet 55) 56.54, 3rd male Hugh Pinder (Vet 50) 58.57 and 5th male Ken Jackson (Vet 70) 62.20.
Tennyson 8 mile
There was a good turn out by Louth AC in the longer race with 13 members. The ladies had a brilliant day achieving 3 top awards: Kerry Stainton, Ruth Edison and Trudy Roberts taking the 1st female team prize. Kerry Stainton 2nd female and Shirley Willett 1st female Veteran 50 age category.
First member home was Paul Snowden (Vet 45) 18th 56.21. Followed by Kevin Wallis (Vet 55) 21st 57.10, Austin Smith (Vet 40) 24th 58.15, Kerry Stainton (Vet 45) 32nd 60.10, Pete Crow (Vet 55) 39th 62.32, Ruth Edison (Vet 45) 47th 63.53, Edward Enright (Vet 60) 50th 65.53, Trudy Roberts (Vet 45) 58th 68.10, Shirley Willett (Vet 50) 71st 73.15, Amanda Young (Vet 50) 79th 74.58, Jane Cope (Vet 55) 88th 77.57, Malcolm Cope (Vet 65) 89th 77.57 and Kathryn Pinder (Vet 50) 98th 81.52.
Victoria Cass (Vet 35) has been putting in some consistent training and it is beginning to pay off with 2 PBs in a week. Victoria took part in the Market Rasen multi terrain 10K on Sunday 23rd September 2018 and ran an excellent time of 52 min 54 secs taking nearly 2 minutes of her PB time set in 2016. She ran the Cleethorpes Parkrun on Saturday 29th September 2018 in 24 min 51 secs a PB by 1 min 13 secs finishing 62nd out of 231 finishers.
Evie Brooks (Under 15) took part in the Lincoln Parkrun on Saturday 29th September 2018 finishing a fantastic 35th out of 449 runners in a time of 21 min 10 secs, only 2 seconds off her PB.
