There were 2 competitions on Saturday 30th September 2017 with 15 members in action; 4 seniors at the Lincolnshire Wolds Tough Ten and 3 seniors the Boston Parkrun; 8 junior members competed at The Annual Denis Lumbard Memorial Grimsby Harriers Open Track and Field match held at King George V stadium, Grimsby.

James McNamee goes from strength to strength!
There were 124 runners at the weekly free 5Km timed run. James McNamee has continued his winning ways with another 1st place in a new parkrun PB of 18 mins 12 secs. Denzil Phillips a first timer at Boston on his 4th parkrun 35th in 25 mins 44 secs and Lindsey Phillips also a first timer at Boston on her 3rd parkrun came 58th in 28 mins 51 secs.

2 first places in the female Veteran age category!
This event was hosted for the first time by Caistor Running Club. There were 183 competitors taking on the testing course; the weather conditions with a slight breeze at the start of the race giving way into warm sunshine.
The 3 drink stations were most welcomed! Kevin Wallis was the first member home in 41st in 1hr 11 mins 2 secs. Kerry Stainton ran a superb race finishing 54th overall and 1st in the Female Veteran 45 age category in an excellent time of 1 hour 14 mins 2 secs, just outside her PB. Mick Dean finished 99th in 1 hour 22 mins 44 secs. The final member over the line was Betty Gash finishing 123rd and 1st in the Female 55 age category in a new Veteran 10 mile PB of 1 hour 26 mins 12 secs.

8 junior members attended this popular end of season Athletics meeting.
Under 15 Boys – It was a one two for Caleb Stephenson and Lloyd Buck in the 1500m. Caleb stepping up from 800m to 1500m ran a fantastic race to win in 4 min 41.7 knocking over a minute of his previous PB. Lloyd ran a good race also finishing under the 5 minute barrier in 4 min 55.3.
Under 15 Girls – Hannah Reid came 3rd in the 1500m, in a very close finish .2 of a second from 2nd place, in a season best time of 5 min 10.4. In the same 1500m race Freya Plaskitt came 4th with a new PB by 6 seconds in an excellent time of 5 min 29 secs. Kandi Austin competed well to finish 8th in the 100m in 16.6 secs and 4th Long Jump 3.36.
Under 13 Girls – Evie Brooks had a good competition in the Long Jump finishing 11th in a new PB by 6 cms to 3.38 and 8th in the Shot Putt at 5.31. Evie also competed in a mixed club 4 x 100m relay which clocked a time of 63.1 secs.
Under 11 Boys – 9 year old Oliver Brooks had an excellent day of athletics. He ran a competitive race in the 600m with a strong finish and achieving a well-deserved PB by 6 seconds in 7th place with 2 min 15.8 secs. In the 80m Heat 1 finished 5th in a new PB 13.3 secs and 9th in the whizzer to throw 19 metres 18 cms.
Under 9 Girls – 1st and 3rd places for Ava Rhodes. Ava ran a fantastic race to win the 80m final in 14.8 secs in a tight finish as 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed runners all ran the same time of 14.9 secs. Ava came 3rd in a one lap run with a brilliant time of 1 min 28.9 secs.
Louth AC members are looking forward to the cross country season with the Tennyson 8 and Cleethorpes AC Beach run on Sunday 8th October 2017 and the Lincolnshire League first race on Sunday 29th October 2017.
