The event took place at Riseholme near Lincoln with LUCAS George-Jones (pictured below 441) kicking off a successful day for Louth Athletic Club with a win in the under-11s’ race at the Lincolnshire Cross Country County Championships on Sunday.
He was followed by Matthew Spendlove in third and Freya Plaskitt also came third for the girls.
It was a cold start to the day at the picturesque Riseholme course and the terrain ranged from hard, frozen tracks to boggy, woodland footpaths.
Lucas’s brother Jevon was first in the under-13 boys’ race and James Larder (pictured below 78) won in the under-15 boys’.
Jevon helped steer Louth AC to second place in the closely fought team event with Kieron Byrne and Caleb Stephenson. The boys were just two points behind winners Nene Valley Harriers.
Louth AC’s women (pictured below) won silver in the veteran women’s race with Kerry Stainton, who finished second, Debbie Simpson and Trudy Roberts taking the points.
Thanks to Lincoln Wellington AC for hosting the event and all the volunteers who braved the cold to help the race run smoothly.
