Louth AC runners at Castledyke Equestrian Centre for the second match in this year’s Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League.
Runners from across the county battled a soggy, rain-soaked course in the second match of this season’s Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League.
More than 20 Louth AC members took on the challenging course with its muddy tracks, tree trunk hurdles and swamp-like water jump, at Castledyke Equestrian Centre, near Gipsey Bridge.
Boston and District AC organised an excellent meeting and the two marshals who spent the day up to their knees in the water pit need a special mention.
Official results will be available later this week at www.lincsathletics.org.uk.
Louth AC hosted the first match in the league at their London Road ground last Sunday.
Lucas George-Jones took the first win for Louth in the under-11s boys’ race, followed by older brother Jevon in the under-13s and James Larder in the under-15s.
Louth AC was the first team in the under-13s boys’ race, third in the under-15s and third in the senior men’s.
Louth’s women are the reigning league champions having won it for two years running and finished fourth in the opening race. Full results are available at www.lincsathletics.org.uk.
